The {Barajas} Family – 2020 The Coronatography Project

The Coronatography Project is my personal project and something that allows the families of this rare moment in history (COVID-19 Lockdown) to capture what is was like during the pandemic. Its meant to bring light and hope during such a dark time. This quarantine time capsule will become a part of history and will tell great stories in the future. When everything else is gone, photography is all we have left. I hope this project enlightens and bring smiles… we are in this together! #VegasStrong #familylove

Family #17 – The Barajas Family, living in quarantine the best way they know how. They both work at the Cromwell. Mom is a bartender and Dad is a barback. They said unemployment has been a nightmare. They were both laid off and aren’t sure when or if they will get to go back. They really miss getting up and going wherever, whenever. They also miss being able to work and not having to worry about income.

Sometimes day drinking is ok , LOL

Although this time has been tough, they have learned to appreciate tucking their boys into bed every night. Working nights they miss out on evening routines. They were so use to their weird schedules they didn’t think about it much. Mom said, “It has been really nice to be together for dinner, movie nights, and bedtime.” They have also started going on bike rides together.

Their older son misses his friends and some of his normal activities, but says he likes being able to stay home all day too.Mom does not like homeschooling! Not at all. She does love having him home and getting to spend more time with him though. There are just so many distractions that some days school work takes wayyyyyy longer then it should.

“I hope I get a different teacher next year” said their oldest!

When everything is over, they will be going OUT TO EAT!! Dad will enjoy a night off from cooking and Mom will enjoy not having to do the dishes!!!

Thank you to the Barajas Family for sharing your story!
