The Coronatography Project is my personal project and something that allows the families of this rare moment in history (COVID-19 Lockdown) to capture what is was like during the pandemic. Its meant to bring light and hope during such a dark time. This quarantine time capsule will become a part of history and will tell great stories in the future. When everything else is gone, photography is all we have left. I hope this project enlightens and bring smiles… we are in this together! #VegasStrong #familylove
Family #7 – The Godfrey Family, who I have known for a LONG time has always brought personality to their shoots, and this was no different. They literally just moved into their new home during the lock down leaving them with quarantined mess. Their family own Sagos Tavern and it got shutdown so both Mom and Dad are home. It’s awful, they miss their Sagos family.
Their daughter misses school, cheer, and dance. She had to miss cheer Nationals due to the shutdown. She is also missing her last year, her 5th grade year, at a school she has been at since she was 2 years old. Their son misses the rest of their family, Disneyland, seeing friends, hockey, and karate. Dad misses seeing his Mom, Dad and all his family. Mom misses the Golden Knights! She misses all the amazing memories with family and friends at the games. She also misses seeing all of their family and friends. She said, “I can’t wait to be able to see everyone and celebrate missed birthdays and special events with them.” Both Mom and Dad are celebrating their birthdays at home.
They appreciate toilet paper. lol Dad appreciates the simple activity of going to stores. Their daughter appreciates being at school and with her friends. She really misses school while her brother does not miss it at all. Their son is just now appreciating being with his family. Mom appreciates spending time with family and the slower pace. Their daughter was in cheer, dance, and coding so they were running around 6 days a week. Their son was busy with skating and karate. Mom said she enjoys not running around to all the time but the kids really miss their activities. Mom said, “We are appreciating home time in our new house. We are appreciating having a pool and nice backyard during this time.” BUT they miss their Sagos dinners.
They have picked up some new activities. Dad goes swimming and learned 3D printing. Their son loves swimming and biking. Their daughter loves swimming and dancing all day. Mom is just busy unpacking and cleaning!
Mom does not like homeschooling, she says its hard. Mom said she has always appreciated teachers and has always been willing to go above and beyond for them because teaching is tough.
Once the lock down is lifted they plan to go to their Beach House and to Zion.
Thank you to the Godfrey Family for sharing your story!
